October has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice how much there is to be thankful for. Our classrooms are full of fall colors, new friendships, and children who are growing more confident every week.
A new chapter for Ms. Vanessa
This month, Ms. Vanessa Wright stepped into the role of Director at Benevolent House Academy. Many of you already know her from the front desk, the classrooms, and morning arrival. She brings more than 20 years of experience in childcare and holds her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. She is also a mother who has cared for children at every age and stage.
Ms. Vanessa has been a steady, caring presence for our families since she joined us in June, and we are grateful to have her leading our days. Ms. Haddie Mashburn continues to serve as Director alongside her, so your family has two leaders to turn to.
Our first family newsletter
We are also starting something new. Each month, you will find a BHA Family Newsletter on the counter next to the sign-in kiosk. It includes a look at what your child is learning, simple ideas to try at home, dates to remember, and something fun for your little one. Please take one with you.
As you prepare for the upcoming holiday season
We want to give your family plenty of time to plan. BHA will be closed November 25 through 27 for Thanksgiving, December 23 through 25 for Christmas, and December 31 and January 1 for the New Year. These days give our teachers time to rest and be with their own families, so they can return ready to pour into yours.
