A childcare center built by a family who understands what families truly need.
Benevolent House Academy exists to provide safe, nurturing, high-quality childcare for every family, with special understanding of the unique needs of foster, adoptive, and kinship families. We believe that when children feel secure, they thrive.
Our staff is specially trained to create an environment where every child feels safe, seen, and supported. We meet each child where they are, with patience and understanding.
Because families do not operate on a 9-to-5 schedule. Whether you work nights, weekends, or rotating shifts, BHA is here when you need us.
Proudly serving Red Oak, Midlothian, Waxahachie, Cedar Hill, and surrounding communities with childcare that strengthens families and builds futures.
At BHA, we believe that quality childcare goes beyond supervision. Every interaction is an opportunity to build confidence, curiosity, and connection.
Our curriculum is designed around each age group's developmental needs. From sensory play for infants to academic readiness for pre-K, every activity has a purpose.
We work alongside parents, not apart from them. Regular communication, progress updates, and an open-door policy mean you are always connected to your child's day.
We prioritize kindness, self-regulation, and empathy alongside academics. Children who feel emotionally supported become confident learners and compassionate people.
Benevolent House Academy was born from lived experience. As parents of nine children and a family shaped by foster care and adoption, founders Tanya and Christopher Orr know firsthand the challenges families face when searching for childcare that truly understands their children.
Through their work with Benevolent House in Red Oak, Texas, they saw the gap over and over: families with non-traditional schedules, children with complex histories, and a childcare system that was not designed to meet them where they are.
BHA was created to fill that gap. Licensed through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, BHA serves children ages 6 weeks to 13 years with care that is intentional, responsive, and rooted in the understanding that every child's story matters.
Opening April 2026, at 508 N State Hwy 342, Red Oak, TX 75154, Benevolent House Academy is not just a childcare center. It is a place where foundations become futures.
Tanya Orr is a mother of nine and a lifelong advocate for children and families. Her career in child welfare spans years of frontline work with foster, adoptive, and kinship families. She founded Benevolent House to support families navigating the child welfare system, and created BHA to extend that mission into early childhood education and care. Tanya brings both professional expertise and deeply personal experience to everything BHA does.
Christopher Orr is a dedicated father and partner in the family's mission. He brings operational expertise to both Benevolent House and BHA, ensuring that day-to-day operations run smoothly so staff can focus on what matters most: the children. Together with Tanya, he has navigated the foster care and adoption system as a parent, giving him a deep, personal understanding of the families BHA serves.
We would love to hear from you. Whether you are exploring care options, ready to enroll, or interested in joining our team, we are here to help.
